Project Spotlight: Padangle House, London

At PRNS, we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality construction services tailored to the unique needs of each project. Recently, we had the opportunity to work on a significant project at Padangle House in London. This project involved multiple phases, including the installation of temporary hoardings, removal of outdated lift systems, scaffolding, and the implementation of a new electrical supply. Here’s a detailed look at the work we carried out at Padangle House.

Phase 1: Installation of Temporary Hoardings

Our team began the project by installing six temporary construction hoardings on our first visit to the site. These hoardings were essential for securing the work area, ensuring the safety of both our workers and the building’s occupants. Temporary hoardings play a crucial role in maintaining an organised and hazard-free environment during construction, and at PRNS, we ensure they are installed to the highest standards.

Phase 2: Removal of Old Lift System

With the hoardings in place, we proceeded to the next phase: the removal of the old 300kg traction lift. This task was challenging due to the weight and size of the lift, but our experienced team managed it efficiently. We also removed the existing cladding from the lift entrances, preparing the area for the upcoming installations. Removing outdated systems is a critical step in modernising building infrastructure, and we approached it with the precision and care it required.

Phase 3: Installation of Clip and Tube Scaffold

Following the removal of the old lift system, we installed a clip and tube scaffold inside the empty shaft. This scaffolding provided the necessary support and access for our team to begin the installation of the new steel structure. Proper scaffolding is essential for ensuring safety and efficiency in construction projects, and our partners installed it to the highest standards, regularly checking for compliance with health and safety regulations.

Phase 4: Steel Structure Installation

With the scaffolding securely in place, we moved on to installing the steel structure within the lift shaft. The steel structure forms the backbone of the lift system, providing the necessary support and stability. Our team’s expertise in handling complex installations ensured that this phase was completed seamlessly, setting the stage for the next crucial steps in the project.

Phase 5: Electrical Supply Installation

Once the steel structure was installed, we turned our attention to the electrical aspects of the project. We installed a new three-phase electric supply, which is vital for the operation of modern lift systems. The installation of this electrical supply was done with utmost precision to ensure safety, reliability, and compliance with all relevant standards.

Phase 6: Making Good Works

The final phase of the project involved removing the temporary hoardings and commencing the Making Good works. This step is crucial for restoring the site to a functional and aesthetically pleasing state. Our Making Good works included tasks such as plastering, painting, and ensuring that all new installations blended seamlessly with the existing structure.

The project at Padangle House, London, showcases our comprehensive approach to lift system modernisation. From securing the site with temporary hoardings to the careful installation of new systems and Making Good works, PRNS is dedicated to delivering excellence at every stage.
